Abstract
This paper mainly introduces the design process of the highway. Based on the information given by the analysis of the raw data, and the section of geology, topography, terrain, hydrology and other natural conditions, according to "Highway Engineering Technical Standard", "Road Design Standards" issued by the Ministry of Communications and other related technologies indicators, I have finished this task under the teacher's guidance and help from students.
The area that this highway passes through belongs to plain with micro-hill area.This highway of design speed is 100km/h with bi-directional four-lane first-grade highway, with route length of 1396.29 meters, embankment width of 26 m, one horizontal curves, and one vertical curves. Line design including graphic design, longitudinal design and cross-sectional design; Then I accomplished the pavement drainage design, which uses ditches, drains and drainage ditches for drainage to ensure the water stability of roadbed and pavement; at last, a composite design of pavement structure and other designs are also finished.
The whole design have calculated the planar, vertical and horizontal elements of this line, besides roadbed, pavement and so on, thereby making it possible to successfully complete the preliminary design of the highway.
